Samsun Galaxy J6 With 3GB Of RAM Android Oreo OS

Samsung UK has officially introduced the Galaxy J6, after the mid-range smartphone debuted in India last month, alongside the Galaxy J8. Both devices pack an Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, which marks the first time that the Galaxy J lineup embraces this feature. The Galaxy J6 went on sale in India late last month prior to its global release, and it is available in Black, Blue, and Gold color options in the Asian country. Meanwhile, Samsung announced that the Galaxy J6 will hit store shelves in the United Kingdom this summer in partnership with select companies.

The Galaxy J6 sports a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED full-front display with a resolution of 1480×720 pixels and it comes with a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back of the phone, where you can tap your finger in order to unlock the device even without having to wake it up first. The handset boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with an auto-focus capability and an aperture of f/1.9. Sitting on the front of the device is an 8-megapixel snapper with an aperture of f/1.9 and a front LED flash to allow you to capture a bright selfie even in low-lit environments. In addition, you can also add augmented reality (AR) stickers to your photos in order to personalize them. The phone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset clocked at 1.6GHz and coupled with 3GB of RAM plus a 32GB native storage that is expandable up to 256GB via a micro SD card slot. The Galaxy J6 ships with a 3,000mAh battery. Samsung says the device will be available in three color options: Black, Lavender, and Gold.

Galaxy J6 runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung’s Experience 9.0 UI on top of it. Its connectivity features include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.2, USB Type-B, near field communication, GPS, Glonass, and BeiDou (with limited coverage). The phone measures 149.3 x 70.2 x 8.2mm and offers what Samsung describes as “ergonomic design, providing durability with a comfortable grip”. Pricing information of the mid-range device for the global market remains unclear at present, though it is expected to follow in the coming days. It’s worth noting that the device currently costs Rs. 13,990 (~$206) in India for the base variant, so the international version won’t be expected to differ that much.

New Delhi: Aiming to strengthen its position in India's hot budget smartphone segment, Samsung on Friday introduced a new device in its Galaxy J series with the launch of Galaxy J4 at a starting price of Rs 9,990.

Galaxy J4 comes with 5.5-inch HD super AMOLED display technology to deliver a vivid and colourful viewing experience, and runs Android Oreo 8.0.

The phone will be available in blue, black and gold variants, Samsung said.

"With 60 million plus devices sold and counting, Galaxy J series is India's most popular smartphone series owing to the millennial focused meaningful innovation," said Sumit Walia, director, Mobile Business, Samsung India.

"Galaxy J4 comes packed with a host of new innovations like Advanced Memory Management, adjustable front LED Flash and Samsung Mall that makes it perfect for millennials," Walia added.

The Advanced Memory Management is Samsung's "Make for India" feature which helps consumers save memory space by automatically directing image and video content from social media applications to the external memory card.

It also helps in keeping the device memory clean by deleting duplicate images received on social media messengers.

Galaxy J4 provides an adjustable front LED flash, which helps to capture better selfies by adjusting the LED flash as per the ambient lighting conditions.

It comes pre-loaded with Samsung Mall that lets users shop by clicking a picture of the desired product and automatically getting results for the item across popular e-commerce platforms.

Galaxy J4 comes with a 13MP rear camera with an F1.9 aperture, and the App Pair feature which opens a consumer defined pair of apps simultaneously in two multi windows, enabling easier multitasking.

Crafted with a new 2.5D glass design, the device is powered by a 1.4GHz Exynos processor and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Galaxy J4 comes in 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM+ 32GB storage variants - both expandable up to 256 GB memory - and is priced at Rs 9,990 and Rs 11,990 respectively.
